How to Add a New License Key in Artisan 3.X

It is usual for a license to expire in Artisan after a pre-defined time. If your license is about to expire you must obtain a new one from CerTek Software Designs, Inc. To do so, just contact us via phone or e-mail and we will provide a new license key so that you can continue using Artisan POS. If your key has already expired, the steps below may not be the exact steps to follow but they will still help as it is basically the same concept just different starting points.

Once you have the a new license key, follow the steps below to add it to your current instance of Artisan POS.



Step 1: 

  • Open Artisan and from the Main Menu go to 6) System Administration => 5) License Keys




Step 2: 

  • Now you should be on the License Keys screen, you will see the previous license keys in the system. Do not delete them. 
  • To add the new license key press "F3" or click on the option "Add A New Record"





Step 3: 

  • Now enter the new license key provided by CerTek 
  • Only enter the key and all the fields will be match automatically with its respective values.
  • Click "Save" to proceed. 




Step 4: 

  • Now enter the store name. This must be exactly as it appears on the license key provided by CerTek. 
  • If the name is different from what CerTek has, the key will not work and an error would be shown.





Step 5: 

  • Press enter to proceed and now the new license key should be added. 
  • Press ESC on the keyboard to go back to the main menu. Everything should be set.
